What are you willing to do?

What would you be willing to do in order know and apply God’s word? What would you be willing to do in order to prayer more deeply? What would you be willing to do to help God’s kingdom grow? One of the hardest realities to face is that we alone are responsible for how we spend our time. We make time for what is important to us. How you are spending your time right now is a directly reflection of your priorities? If you are not reading scripture daily, then the harsh unavoidable reality is that lots of other things are just more important to you. You can say the same for prayer, using your spiritual gifts, or anything else. I would like you to consider what price you would be willing to pay for a closer more faithful relationship with God. To what lengths are you willing to go.

Today, Allyson Lewis, whom you might remember from a faith interview post I did several weeks ago, sent me a link to a very inspiring guest post on her blog. The post, “7 Lessons of Success: One woman’s life of drive, purpose and inspiration” is an inspiring story of one woman’s quest for a better life. This story is an amazing tale of dedication, determination, and sacrifice. Her story is not necessarily a story of discipleship, but as you read the lengths she was willing to go to in order to secure a good life, I would ask you to consider what is your dedication to eternal life? What lengths are you willing to go to for Christ? What if you took the same level of energy and applied to your faith?
