Too busy is when prayer is most needed
One of the most common explanations offered for not praying is being too busy. Â The irony is that when we are overly busy that is when we most need to plug into God’s presence. Â I am really feeling that at the moment. Â I am torn between leaving one church and entering another. Â We are trying to ready a house for sale while living in it and unable to occupy what will be our new home for possibly a couple of weeks. Â It is an insane time of transition. Â Every minute demands more from me than I can realistically give. Â If I ever needed prayer, I need it now.
So what do I do? Â Tomorrow, I will take one hour out of my day for prayer no matter what is going on or needed. Â I will go to one of my prayer spots where I cannot be interrupted. Â It will be the priority for the day. Â All the other stuff doesn’t mean anything if I loose God in the midst of it. Â I also know from experience that the one hour of prayer will redeem itself ten fold. Â I will find myself centered and more productive because of it.
What else will I do? Â I put the word out to multiple friends today. Â When you are too busy to prayer get others praying for you. Â Intercession is a very powerful spiritual resource. Â There is power in numbers of people praying as well.
Lastly, when you are too busy to prayer. Â Realize that you are too busy. Â Tomorrow I will prioritize what must be done and hack away the things that are just desirable.
Peace to you and to me. Â If you are reading this please pray for our family as we transition. Â This is not only a very busy time, but a spiritually ripe time. Â We need prayers for both guidance and protection. Â With gratitude for the challenges and the friends, The Practical Disciple.

Excellent message.
Psalm 20v4: May God give you the desire of your heart and make all of your plans succeed.
Thank You Stushie. I didn’t read your message until after my hour of prayer. Nevertheless, I experienced the fullness of the Psalmist words. I won’t unpack that here, but will in a post. Thank your for your encouragement and prayer through a Psalm. You brother in Christ, The Practical Disciple.
