Why It’s Not Your Fault that You Failed to Read the Bible and How I Can Help You

Have you tried to read the Bible before and failed?

Understand something very clearly…

It’s not your fault.

  • Did anyone give you a proven plan to do it and do it well?
  • Did anyone reveal to you winning strategies, to help keep you from falling down?
  • Did anyone hand you insights to critical passages, so that you found it more engaging?
  • Did anyone encourage you when the going got tough?
  • Did you have a group of people you could do it with, so you weren’t going it alone?
  • Did anyone point you to resources that gave you deeper understanding?

I am guessing the answer to most, if not all of these questions, is “no.” Don’t feel bad. You are not alone. Droves of people needlessly feel guilty about not reading the bible. They feel that way because time and time again they have been told that they should read the Bible, but then no one tells them how. That’s a formula for failure and frustration. So why not change the formula? I did and I am loving it.

I tried to read the Bible and failed over and over again. It wasn’t until I hit upon a solid plan and some simple strategies that I began successfully reading the Bible daily.  Then I achieved my goal of reading the entire Bible not once, but many times.

You can have a new formula. I have put it together for you. I have revised The Practical Disciple Through the Bible in a Year Program, so that you can start anytime. I have stripped off the dates and created an easy to follow chart of 365 readings.  I’ll give you:

  • An easy to follow plan without the pitfalls most plans unwittingly possess
  • Secrets that help me succeed
  • Proven reading tips
  • Notes on every book of the Bible
  • Video instruction on core concepts
  • Links to numerous online resources
  • Lots of encouragement
  • And much, much more

Why would I give you all of this? Because reading your Bible daily is one of the absolute best ways to get spiritually fed, become equipped for the junk the world throws at you and to strengthen your relationship with God. And, that’s what The Practical Disciple is all about.

If you are on the fence, I want you to hear what people are saying about the program:

I am spending more time reading the Bible now that I have this plan. This reading is changing my life. I am excited to read books of the Bible that I have not read for many years. New meanings are coming to light. Also, I appreciate the encouraging e-mails and videos. Somehow I feel that we are “in this together,” and that makes it easier for me to keep this commitment. Although I get behind in my reading from time to time, I have not stopped reading.

–Patricia Robertson

I have learned a lot of new things; that I did not know before by being part of this program.

–Dennel Burke

I’ve been able to keep my resolution of reading the whole bible, and understand more each day about God’s Word. It’s helping me on my path to ministry as well.

David Zwirn

Learning the Bible doesn’t have to be overwhelming. I had never tried to read much on my own outside of the gospels.

–Elena Jeffus

I wanted a way to encourage me to get into reading the Bible daily. The support is very helpful to keep me going – I feel like I am sharing the experience with others even though I don’t know who they are!

–Kerry McCall

I like the support you provide, giving info about what we are reading. It helps me focus on the content rather than just reading it.

–Paula Lohrmann

It has strengthened my faith and filled a hunger. I have read books rather than chapters to get a bigger picture.

–Lynn Woods

YES!!!! You have given great material and support. great follow up and reminders. The rest is up to us and our personal walk with God and his word.

–Lucy Sarrett

I just enjoy knowing that someone is interested in my progress and that others are on the same path. It’s nice to know that I am sharing my Bible reading journey with others. I would have read through the Bible even if I hadn’t found this program, it’s just a bonus to do it while following this reading plan. I find the other resources to be beneficial and helpful in keeping me motivated.

–Roberta Lamont

A PLAN rather than hopping from book to book.

–Martha Durnett

I like your plan, reading in only one book at a time, then switching to a different book that follows a theme.

–Sharon

I have stayed with the plan except for a couple of days, but I read ahead just in case. I am enjoying having a mixture of Old and New Testament books.

–Mary Baker

I am finally making time to read the Bible. I’m setting aside time during my day for it.

–Angie Southard

I have learned many things to help me grow spiritually.

–Missy Parks
