Listening to the Word

PD reader, Laurie, in response to the post Deer Stand Spirituality, mentioned listening to the Bible on her ipod when working out or listening to it while doing housework.  When I was in college during the walkman era of the 80’s, I listened to the New Testament on tape as I was walking campus from class to class.  I devoured a good bit of the Word by just listening to it when I had opportunity.  If you commute for even ten or fifteen minutes, you have an incredible opportunity to give your spirit a daily dose of God’s Word.  Thanks Laurie for the suggestion.
Over the next few days, I am going to post some tips and tools for entering the New Year with a renewed spirit.  Stay tuned.  Advent was busy and posts were spotty because of the flurry of activity, but I am back at posting now with a fire in my belly for more practical discipleship in 2009.  Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year from The Practical Disciple.
